Hello to all,
Can you guys help with my plans for June 2013? We should arrive into Slovenia around the 3rd of june and then keep moving south,
I would like any info/advice on good roads (asphalt only) and also any camping areas you may know in Croatia,Bosnia,Montenegro and the north of Albania
We plan to travel inland away from the tourist coast roads so we can see more of the Balkan region
Many thanks
Dave

If you enter in montenegro on "Scepan polje" border,i suggest you this route
https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=21 ... 4,2.438965" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
But be aware,there could be still snowbanks on road from "Trsa" to "Zabljak" in june...
Heres pictures from some of this part
http://www.nolimitbikers.com/forum/view ... 5&start=70" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
On 'Zabljak",theres two camps,"Razvrsje" (
http://www.durmitor-autocamp.com/naslovna.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and "Ivan Do"(near Crno lake).
From Zabljak,you go to Mojkovac,passing by "Djurdjevica Tare" bridge.You can also visit Biogradsko lake,on the half way from Mojkovac to Kolasin.
Than you go to Podgorica,and enter in Albania on "Bozaj" border...
Wish you good luck

There is only a few camping places inland (most of them are on the coast area).
Here is link to:
http://www.avtokampi.si/kampi.asp?vrsta ... 3&drzava=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Inland you can find decent B&B.
Gps is more or less useless in Bosnia and Montenegro (it's OK for main roads and towns, but it gets "lost" for anything else).
Have a nice time.

Hi Dave
which border crossing will you come in to Slowenia? from Austria?
you want only asfalt route?
route over mountain pass or more flat
would you like to see any culture places, or are you more interestet on beautiful landscapes?
with this information i can make for you a proposed route to Montenegro
for asfalt routes the maps from Bonia&Herzegowina and Montenegro are not so bad

Hi Franc,
our plan is to camp one night at the start of our trip and then spend more time on our return trip and stay at this place
http://www.pri-marku-porenta.si/SLO/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
as my friends have stayed before, So for the first stay in Slovenia i think we will travel as far south in one day and then camp and enter Croatia the next day
Cheers Dave

You can cross Slovenija in 3-4 hours (if you use a toll road even faster).
I would suggest road over Vršič to Soča valley (but if you "came back" later you can visit it then).
I would go this way: Kranjska gora- Jesenice-Kranj-Ljubljana-Kočevje- Petrina/Brod na Kupi (border to Croatia)-Delnice-Gornje Jelenje and camp somewhere near Novi Vinodolski on adriatic coast (It's not the fastest way, but I like it). From there you can go over the Velebit to inland.
If you want to "stay" inland you can go toward Otočac (from Delnice) and to Plitvička jezera (it's a beatiful place to visit, but you need at least half a day to do it "properly").
If you tell me what you plan to visit, I might have some suggestions.
Cheers Franc
